This Course gives an introduction to a wide variety of computational methods outlining both the theory and practice. More modern methods are also included such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. Weekly reading assignments are given from the book:
Numerical Recipes, 3rd edition, by William H. Press, Saul A. Teukolsky, William T. Vetterling, Brian P. Flannery.
In the lectures we will introduce each topic and proceed to hands on examples in Matlab.
The course grade is based on weekly homework and a class project. The homework is due the Wednesday after it was assigned.
