Alon Fellowships for Outstanding Young Researchers

Alon Fellowship: 1998-2001

The Alon Fellowship program is named after the late Yigal Alon, who was a Minister of Education and a Chairman of the Council of Higher Education, and its original intent was to enable universities to absorb outstanding young researchers. The Alon Fellowships in fact turned into prizes for excellence among the best candidates for absorption in the staffs of the higher education system. The program is competitive and is based on personal excellence, without setting a quota for any university or for any field. Approximately 20 new fellowships are awarded each year.
